LeoVegas Review

LeoVegas Sport LogoLeoVegas is known within the online gambling community as one of the best and most reliable online casinos around; and their stellar game range consisting of thousands of different titles sets them apart from the vast majority of their competitors.

While LeoVegas have historically appeared unwilling to move into new markets, a recent update to their site saw the welcome addition of a sports book; yet despite the company’s reputation elsewhere, the sports betting side of their operation has remained fairly unknown.

In today’s post we’re going to take a look at the sportsbook and consider some of its’ core aspects, including the website itself, any special features, and the banking options available.

THE LEOVEGAS WEBSITE

LeoVegas Sportsbook Website

LeoVegas is often praised for its intuitive proprietary website, and indeed, their online casino owes much of its success to the flawless design and features on the website.

The sportsbook site is a little quirky, and the whole thing feels more like an app even when using it on a desktop computer. This makes sense given LeoVegas’ position as a mobile gambling focused company, but it doesn’t provide the best experience on a bigger screen.

Nevertheless, it is more than capable of meeting the needs of most bettors in terms of market depth and availability.

It’s the design that slows things down though, especially if you want to bet on something less popular like table tennis. There is a lot of clicking through menus before getting to your bet, and the fact that everything is squashed into the middle third of the page only compounds the amount of scrolling you need to do.

Personally, we don’t love the build of the site, but others may enjoy the change of pace. It is certainly a powerful site and quick to carry out commands, so it won’t frustrate you in that sense.

IN-PLAY

LeoVegas Live betting

As with most bookmakers, LeoVegas weren’t cautious about implementing in-play betting into their sports book, and there’s a lot to choose from. Live events are available from the homepage where you can browse sport by sport and view matches already started or those upcoming.

This only takes up a small area of the interface and it feels a little odd, but it works.

Once an event is opened you can place a series of bets, including using a bet builder for football, and view a few stats and the match graphic too. None of this stuff is industry leading, but it’s available nonetheless. Again though, the design is clumsy on desktop with the betting categories stacked on top of each other meaning you still need to do a lot of scrolling.

On mobile this all makes sense, on desktop, not so much.

To place an in-play bet you just need to add a selection to your bet slip as normal, although bookmakers do implement a 3-5 second delay on your bet being accepted to help combat unfair betting – for example people who are at the betting rounds who would be able to get a few seconds of insight before the bookmaker’s website was updated.

MOBILE BETTING

LeoVegas Mobile

LeoVegas have both an app and a mobile website, and this is where they really come into their own. If you are primarily a mobile bettor then LeoVegas are worth some serious consideration – they even call themselves the King of Mobile Casino, and the sportsbook benefits too.

In truth the site is built for mobile use, so the things that niggle on the desktop site turn into positives on the smaller screen. There are quick links to popular sports, specials, and you can create your own favourites list too for quick access, but browsing all sports is only a tap away thanks to another menu button.

In play works better on mobile too, and with the betslip being always available via an ever present quick link tucked away at the bottom, you can jump between managing your in-play bets (cash out etc) and monitoring the games you are interested in.

Again, the site is proprietary so it feels individual and won’t necessarily feel second nature at first, but it doesn’t take long to get the hang of and will serve you well once you master it.

FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE

LeoVegas SupportLeoVegas have been widely praised for their customer support, even winning awards, which goes to show just how committed to their players they really are.

While it was their online casino product that made them famous, it looks as though the same level of world class customer service is also on offer at the sports book. You’ll always be able to reach out to the support team with any questions, queries, or problems you have, and get an immediate and helpful response.

If they are particularly busy you will be told how many people are in front of you in the queue as well, so you can decide whether you want to hang on or come back and try again later. This is much appreciated, as there is nothing more annoying than needing help and having no idea how long you will be waiting.

BANKING

Wallet cashLeoVegas offer a small yet well considered range of deposit and withdrawal options, and whether you’re looking to use a debit card or EWallet, you’ll find a payment method that suits you. Options include: Visa and Mastercard Debit cards, Skrill, Neteller, Entropay, Paysafecard, and – if the circumstances allow – bank transfers.

LeoVegas have also recently added PayPal to the roster, and this is hugely beneficial for players in the UK as it allows you to deposit and withdraw instantly and without any fees whatsoever. In fact, as soon as LeoVegas process your withdrawal (which generally takes 5-7 hours), you will see the funds available in your PayPal account in just a few minutes – and thanks to PayPal’s instant bank transfer function, it takes only a couple of seconds to then withdraw it to your bank account.

If you’re not planning on using PayPal, then when it comes to withdrawals you’re pretty much limited to debit cards and a few EWallets. Most EWallets will credit the funds to your account within 4 hours, and debit cards will generally be processed the next working day (if after 3PM) – although in some cases it can take a little longer.

You can get more information on the available payment methods and any withdrawal time frames from the main ‘Banking FAQ’ page on LeoVegas’ website.
